Hospice & Palliative Care Center Golf Tournament
On Friday, August 7th members of the UUFWS Golfers helped the Hospice and Palliative CareCenter raise over $9,000. We did it by playing, soliciting, volunteering and generally lending a helping hand. Special thanks to Bruce Goodrich, who secured our media sponsor, Shawn Angell who came up with some big time donations, Steve Tuch and Signs Now for financially supporting our solicitation efforts, Jim Burnham for getting some great goodie bags stuff, Suzanne Buchanan and her husband, David, for helping out the day of the tournament, James Hatchett, for soliciting door prizes and serving on the organizing committee, Jack Campbell, for serving on the organizing committee and soliciting prizes, Patty Ricono for volunteering and offering a couple of great door prizes, and for Tom Ricono for rounding up two UUFWS golfing teams, with Paul Meis, Bernie Appleton, Melody Burnham, Herman Schmid (who brought his own team!, Gregg Jamback, Steve Tuch, Tom Ricono, and Jack Campbell. A good time was had by all!
Some other fun news is that we have secured the date of Friday, August 13, 2010 at Reynolds Park for next year's tournament.
