How To Get Involved

Volunteers are the glue that holds our Fellowship together. If you are interested in becoming more involved, please consider joining one of the committees listed below. Volunteer your skills, talents and initiative to make a difference at UUFWS and in the larger community.

Adult RE organizes the Sunday morning forum, adult RE classes and other adult education and enrichments programs.

Auction coordinates our major annual fundraiser.

Building Maintenance maintains the building for a safe, well-kept environment.

Canvass conducts the annual fund drive and informs the congregation of the financial needs of the Fellowship.

Care Committee assists Fellowship members and friends in times of need.

CHANGE Core Team is our liaison to a multifaith, multiracial, multicultural community grass-roots organization.

Denominational Affairs informs the congregation of the activities of the Southeastern District and the UUA.

Eco-Solutions educates the Fellowship about environmental sustainability practices and issues.

Finance develops the budget, monitors spending, advises the board, works with canvass, and assists the treasurer.

Green Sanctuary Steering Council coordinates the Fellowship’s efforts to maintain its UUA Green Sanctuary accreditation.

Grounds maintains and improve our property and oversees landscaping plans.

Interweave informs and involves the congregation in ending injustice based on sexual orientation, gender expression and gender identity.

Kitchen and Coffee organizes volunteers to clean the kitchen, make coffee and keep the kitchen supplied.

Marketing coordinates activities to market UUFWS in the community and has oversight of the website.

Membership addresses the attraction and retention of members, recruits welcoming coordinators and organizes Signing Sunday.

Memorial offers support and participation in memorial services, oversees memorial plaques, and maintains the Memorial Garden.

Ministry works with the minister and congregation to help maximize the effectiveness of the ministry of the UUFWS.

Music Committee works with the music director in planning music for Sunday worship services.

Newsletter gathers articles, edits, and designs the monthly newsletter, and organizes its distribution.

Personnel administers the Fellowship's business relations with staff.

Social Action Council identifies, educates and facilitates the social-action agenda.

Worship coordinates service schedule and content with minister; finds guest speakers; organizes service leaders and service coordinators, announcements and pulpit editorials.

Youth Services coordinates youth RE, recruits teachers, and oversees intergenerational activities and services.
