The Steps to Membership
The Recommended Steps to Membership
- Attend 5 to 10 services in order to get a sense of Unitarian Universalism and the congregation.
- Attend UU orientation classes to help you become more familiar with our faith and to help you find out whether Unitarian Universalism’s ideals and principles are compatible with your own personal faith. Four classes are offered:- UU History, UU Religious Education, Getting Involved at UUFWS and Spiritual Discernment. They meet regularly, often on the fourth Sunday of each month at 12 noon in the library.*
- Visit social gatherings and committee meetings to discover the broader life of the Fellowship and to get to know members of our community.*
- Meet with the minister. This allows her to get to know you personally and gives you both an opportunity to discuss where you are on your spiritual path and where you want to go.
* Check the calendar for upcoming classes, meetings and events.
To Become a Member:
- Sign the membership book and pick up a membership packet. These will be available during the Getting Involved at UUFWS orientation class, or you may pick one up from the minister or any member of the Membership Committee.

- Make a financial pledge. Each UU congregation is self-supporting and membership pledges support our activities, staffing needs and facilities throughout the year.

- Bring the completed materials from your membership packet to Signing Sunday held in the UUFWS library every fourth Sunday after orientation class.
