On our path towards building Beloved Community, multiculturalism and anti-racism work is essential. During this 2-hour session, our ministerial intern Mariela Pérez-Simons will help us understand how we can become more inclusive to people from different cultural and racial backgrounds. The Multicultural Leadership Council will provide food and opportunities for fellowship. 
 
Session title: “Weaving the Fabric of Diversity”

During this session you’ll learn:

  • how to see this work as a spiritual practice 
  • specific intentional practices for being more inclusive (as individuals and as a congregation)
  • the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation
  • the difference between multiculturalism and anti-racism work
