The Social Action Council needs you!

Want to make a difference in the community and at the Fellowship? SAC is looking for leaders to coordinate action on issues in the community and the State. This exciting opportunity has many levels and entry points. Once we get you started, you’ll have the autonomy to create your own action plan for the Fellowship. Because volunteering with your friends is FUN as well as rewarding, we are also looking for someone to help identify events and initiatives for group participation – such as a wine party with our partners at the Diaper Bank! Help us help the community. We’ll teach you how.

Share the Plate - June 30th Only!

Our STP partner for the one Sunday of June 30th is the Triad Chapter of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. American United is an educational and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the separation of religion and government as the only way to ensure freedom of religion, including the right to believe or not believe, for all. The Triad Chapter of AU grew out of this Fellowship, and its founders and early officers were UUs. Cash and designated checks (write “share” in the memo line) collected in the offering will be shared 50/50 with Americans United.

Sexual Pathways: Navigating New Waters

During this workshop, we will help our participants broaden their horizons by discussing topics such as:  1)  Gender Identities and Sexual Orientation – How to Be Respectful Through Language.   2)  Engaging our Nonbinary and Polyamorous Peers by Focusing on Their Inherent Worth and Dignity .  3)  Enhancing Our Self-Determination by Setting and Respecting Personal Boundaries. We will use a combination of engaging discussions, small-group role play, and a series of activities designed to be thought-provoking and challenging. Please plan on joining us on Sunday, June 30th from 12:30 – 2:30. We will be serving a light lunch with refreshments. Childcare is available with advanced registration so that we may enlist care providers.  Please request childcare by contacting Pam Lepley at by midnight on June 23rd.
