Celebrate the Bounty of Summer Gardens with Dinner and Dancing! Aug 1

Our next First Friday Potluck Dinner, hosted by the FCC, is August 1st at 6:30. We will celebrate our wonderful Farmers' Markets and the bounty of our summer gardens. FCC members will provide main dishes featuring local produce and meats. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share - if possible, using food from your garden, a local farmers' market or something fresh from your neighborhood grocer. Of course, beverages are always welcome as well.

Water Service Coming Up

Our annual Water Service is Sunday, Aug. 24. The tradition began with a UU congregation in the 1980s as a way to celebrate the idea that our shared beliefs come from many different sources. Here’s how it works: Over the summer, you’re encouraged to collect a small amount of water from your travels or a special spot close to home. During the water ceremony, we’ll combine those waters with a sample of waters from past services. There’s still time to collect a little water and bring it on the 24th! Questions: Check with Julie Palm, Keeper of the Water.

Don't Forget Your Water!

During the summer months, you’re encouraged to collect a small amount of water from your travels—or a meaningful spot here at home—and bring it to our annual Water Service on Sunday, Aug. 24. The waters will be combined with a sample of waters from past ceremonies to represent our coming together after summer trips—and as a symbol of our shared beliefs coming from many different sources. Questions? Julie Palm, Keeper of the Water, will try to answer them.
