Share the Plate - July - Food Bank Garden

July’s recipient of our "Share The Plate" offering is the Betty and Jim Holmes Food Bank Garden. This all-volunteer-run garden, located on Reynolda Road at Crossnore, yields over 10,000 lbs of produce annually. All the produce is distributed to those in need through some 400 agencies in Forsyth and the other 17 counties served by the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. Volunteers are also needed. Brochures are available on the SAC table in the lobby. Sallie Brewer is the STP ambassador.

News from The Petree Fan Club

Despite the warmer weather, an occasional fleece scarf is still seen on a Petree student, faculty or staff member, along with a proud smile. Thanks to the generosity of several donors, Missy the manager at Joann Fabrics, and the extraordinary and tireless work of the following UU members and friends, we made and gave out nearly 600 scarves this year. In addition, we have on hand enough fabric (some already cut) to make a scarf for each newcomer next year and also in the fall of 2019. Join the Petree Fan Club today!
