Salvation

On my final Sunday in the pulpit at the Winston Salem UU Fellowship I'll offer some reflections on salvation -- not some desired-for experience somewhere else or some time later, but a reality in our very midst.  I’ll echo the wisdom of Reinhold Niebuhr: "Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime; therefore we are saved by hope. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore we are saved by love."

The service will include a formal closure of our two years of interim ministry, and LOTS of special music.  Following the service all are invited to a coffee-hour reception to celebrate Dave Johnson’s completion of 25 years of full-time ministry, and his two years as our Transition Consultant.  Dave’s entire family (wife Diann; daughter Melanie; and son Stefan) will be here for the Forum, Sunday service, and coffee hour celebration.
