The Garden Council of Winston Salem has granted us $300 to buy flowering native plants to beautify the front walkway area. Next spring the flower brigade volunteers (who this year created the new flower beds around the back deck) will beautify our front walkway, thanks to the financial generosity of The Garden Council.

Mitch Termotto was diagnosed a few weeks ago with marginal zone lymphoma. His doctors are very positive about a treatment plan which consists of chemo once a month to reduce the size of some enlarged lymph nodes. Although the treatment took a toll on him, he’s feeling good and looking forward to a positive outcome. Mitch and Scott want to thank the care team for providing meals and to the congregation for an outpouring of support. You can connect with Mitch by sending a card to: 209 Elmwood Forest Ct Lewisville, NC 27023-3017

Our dear member Patricia Anastasio McKay died peacefully on August 9th, 2023. Pat was born in Racine, Wisconsin, and her family moved to Florida in 1956. She and Tom, her beloved husband of 53 years, came to Winston-Salem from Boca Raton in 2006.
Pat had a long career in banking, starting as a teller and working her way into mortgage banking and bank management. Pat was an avid reader, and she and Tom enjoyed traveling in Europe. She had a wide variety of interests, and she loved her cats.
In her 13 years as a member, Pat often volunteered for Fellowship projects and events. She served in many roles including leadership of the Care and Worship Committees, and she remained active in Small Group Ministry. Pat’s wit was keen. When friends would say, “Pat, it’s so good to see you,” she’d often respond, “It’s good to be seen!” Her dry sense of humor, gentle leadership, and her unyielding love for her community was a tremendous gift to us all.
Pat is survived by her husband, Tom, daughter Liz Blevins, son-in law Danny, and grandson, Shelby. Details about a service to celebrate Pat’s life will be forthcoming as plans are finalized.
Condolences may be sent to:
