Let’s welcome back the teachers and staff of Easton Elementary School by providing snacks to start out the new school year.

Place pre-packaged snacks of microwave popcorn, chocolate, chips, nuts, cookies, dried fruit, canned/bottled drinks, etc. in the box in the foyer at any time. Items will be picked up the third Monday of each month between 9-10am. Fresh fruit and fresh-baked goods, well-wrapped, can be placed in the box on the third Sunday of the month (beginning in August) and they will be picked up the next day.

Blessing It All: Rituals for Transition and Transformation is a just-published featured book at this year’s General Assembly. It invites us to bless all the ordinary and profound moments that are transitional and transformational for us, whether alone or in community.

Rev. Kayla co-wrote a blessing for Pride in this book, hooray!

Check it out now!

Rev. Kayla Parker’s Installation will be Sunday, Sept. 22 at 3:00 pm, with a reception to follow. The Installation will formally celebrate the covenantal relationship between Rev. Kayla and our UUFWS congregation.

As the UUA explains:

“The Installation isn’t something the congregation does for the minister; rather, it honors and celebrates the promises you are making to one another as you knit yourselves into shared ministry.”

Our Care Team provides caring support for Fellowship members and friends in times of grief, illness, crisis, and some other major life events. Sometimes this caring takes the form of a meal delivery (we all know food = love).

May our Food Arrangers contact you when a need is in your area? Cooks typically provide a meal just once or twice a year.

Email care@uufws.org so we know you are on board.

The Ushers are appealing to us all for some assistance with seating people comfortably on Sunday mornings.

  • The last few rows chairs in the main sections of the Fellowship Hall will be marked as reserved for latecomers. If you come in late, feel free to go find a friend with an open seat nearby. Ideally, these seats will make it more comfortable for newcomers and larger groups who arrive during the service to sit easily so that they feel most welcome.
  • Consider moving up and over, filling in empty seats so that chairs on the outer edges are available. Do this to your own comfort, of course.
  • Reach out to Paul at ushers@uufws.org or CLICK HERE to sign up for a trained trial shift. Additional ushers enhance our ability to be most welcoming, and it’s an on-the-job training that will require minimal monthly commitment as the team grows.

A few other notes:

  • If you need an enhanced listening device or a tablet streaming the service with captions, you’ll find these just outside the doors of the Fellowship Hall.
  • If you wish to step away from the Fellowship Hall for any reason, you can listen to the audio of the service in the foyer or watch the streamed service in the Whitney Young Welcome Room.

Our Care Team is working to update Breeze emergency contact information.

Please take a few minutes to edit your own Breeze profile page and never worry about it again(unless your info changes). This helps the Fellowship be a part of your safety net in times of crisis. Because a crisis might include both you and your partner, another contact is a good idea.

The only people who will have access to this info are staff and the chairs of Care and Lay Ministry. You don’t have to share any more information than you want but you can mention things like pets who are in your home OR just note that you don’t wish to share any information and we will not contact you again.

To enter your information:

  • Click HERE to go to the Breeze login page.

  • Log In to Breeze If you do not remember your password, contact either Caron Armstrong or Jack Campbell to obtain a temporary password.

  • Go to My Profile on the top menu.

  • Hover your mouse on the gray bar labeled Emergency Contact.

  • Click on Click to Edit Section.

  • Enter the information to be shared.

  • Click on Save.

And you’re done!

If you run into trouble navigating the site just contact one of the Care Team members listed below.

Read a recent email from the UUA, “UUA Statement Condemns Violence Against Gaza and Urges Ceasefire“. We know that within our Fellowship and within Unitarian Universalism, differences of opinion and feeling exist on the current war in the Middle East. And – it is important for us to be aware of and learn about the stance our denomination has taken on this issue. Therefore we share this statement for your reading here. -Rev. KP

SAVE THE DATE: November 2, 2024, for the “Over the Rainbow” annual live auction evening!!

We need donors!

We will be accepting donations beginning around late August/early September so please set aside your (physical) treasures until then. We can accept gift certificates of any kind at any time!

Due to storage and time constraints, the auction will be limited to about 300 physical items. We will be looking for unique, unusual, precious and sublime treasures, in very good condition, and worth at least $10. In addition to these lovely finds, we also encourage our fellowship folks to ask their favorite businesses to donate gift certificates, and/or to consider donating their own services, like handy-person hours, a live music performance, party planning, garden/lawn work, pet sitting, Christmas cookie baking, gift wrapping, organizing, etc., etc. We can print individuals’ gift certificates for these.

Watch for more details and volunteering opportunities to come!

Questions? Reach out to the Auction Team at auction@uufws.org.

We have a new way for you to become more involved in our busy congregation!

We’ll help to connect you with groups and activities that interest you. Learn more about many of our activities and find out how to participate, without long-term commitment! We want you to find a place in our community.
