Imbolc (lit., ‘In Milk’) is an ancient Celtic fire festival recognizing the growing light of the year and the return of the Goddess Bridget, who represents the fires of the forge, the fires of the hearth, and the fires of inspiration. She is also associated with fertility, as ewes are beginning to lactate before giving birth at this time of the year.
