Shane Manier will share stories of growth, tension, and resilience. Her poetry and advocacy centers folks from the margins and encourages folks to speak from their truth and experience.

Shane is a Poetry Coach, Educator, Visual Artist, Tedx Keynote Speaker, Trauma Informed Care Instructor, and National Spoken Word Artist. She is the founder and Executive Director of Guerilla Poets, a nonprofit that provides art, poetry and music programs in detention facilities, shelters, schools and more throughout Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Rowan and surrounding counties.

We invite you to come and explore “The Forum,” an adult educational presentation and discussion group held both in person and online at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston-Salem each Sunday from 9:00 – 10:15 AM.

Topics include current events, books, travel, community action, careers, social issues and more. Each event usually begins with a presentation, followed by friendly and lively discussion.

Guests and visitors are welcome. Just show up ready to think, listen and participate as much or as little as you wish. Each week’s topic and presenter are generally announced 2-4 weeks in advance.

Gathering and informal conversation begins at 8:45 am. The presentation/discussion begins at 9:00 am.
