July 14 @ 9:00 am - 10:15 am

forum discussion group

Semaglutide, better known as the popular weight loss drug Wegovy, was first prescribed for people with Type 2 Diabetes as Ozempic. After being approved for weight loss, shortages resulted, and many went without medications for weeks. This year, health insurance companies have stricter coverage guidelines for both drugs, forcing many who relied on semaglutide for weight loss to try other options. Understanding how the drug works and how diet impacts its efficacy are essential in prioritizing the drug’s availability to patients. Please join Jeanne Doherty for an overview of why this class of drugs works for both diseases, their added benefits, and which dietary changes are needed for success.
