The Coffeehouse Team invites you to a lively afternoon with Salem Swing Band (SSB), the Triad’s premier swing ensemble. Salem Swing Band is a 19-piece big-band that performs regularly throughout the region, playing your swing era favorites by Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, and more.
Collaborations include the Piedmont Swing Dance Society, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of W-S, Shallow Ford Foundation/MAW Community Center in Lewisville, and the City of the Arts Jazz Festival. SSB’s vocalist is Mignon Dobbins (pictured), Director of Choirs at Reagan High School/Lewisville Middle School, and Music Director at UUFWS.
Salem Swing Band is part of the Salem Band organization, Eileen Young, Music Director and Clarinet Solois.
This is a free event, hosted by the UUFWS Coffeehouse Team, and will be held outside at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston Salem. We just ask that you please bring a lawn chair for seating.
