THIS WEEK’S TOPIC
“The Moral Imperative of Ecological Awareness and Action”
This Sunday’s sermon is in honor of our Eco-Solutions Committee. As individuals and as a community, we are called to be aware of and respond with appropriate actions to the climate changes we see unfolding before our eyes. To paraphrase Rabbi Hillel, “If not us, and not now, when?” The fact that the problem seems overwhelming, that too many people do not care about it, or the notion that it is a problem for future generations, not us, are all evasions of responsibility which we must reject. We can do something, and what we do matters. This Sunday, I will discuss the moral imperative of climate awareness and action and discuss antidotes to indifference and discouragement.
We will also celebrate New Member Sunday early in the service. We’ll introduce and welcome members who have joined the Fellowship since January 2020. Stay after the outdoor service and welcome our newest members during coffee hour.
I look forward to seeing you Sunday.
