This Sunday, we celebrate the Unitarian Universalist ritual of a Flower Communion. This ritual began at a Unitarian Church in Czechoslovakia seeking to find its purpose after war, and choosing to be together amidst fear. When the minister who created it was put in a concentration camp, he took the ritual with him and it found new life and commitment to joy amidst atrocity and suffering. This beautiful and grounded-in-struggle ritual celebrates our capacity to keep life and love alive, and keep turning to one another. Bring a flower (or a few) and receive one, too. Those joining online, bring a flower inside with you if you can!
