County/City Carbon Free Resolutions Meeting

The topic this month is buildings and cities. At this monthly discussion group we explore solutions to reduce carbon emissions and heal the planet! How we can transform our practices and personal behaviors to drawndown the amount of carbon in our atmosphere? We'll be using the book: "Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming," edited by Paul Hawken. Bring your friends. The public is welcome. Not a vegetarian or vegan? Not a problem, all are welcome! Not sure WHAT to make or how? Not a problem, pass on the dish, bring your curiosity! Think a vegetarian/vegan diet is too hard/too expensive? Not so - let’s discuss! There will be plenty of food and knowledge to share so come join us, enjoy an amazing meatless meal and learn about the impact of our food choices on our planet. This event is self governing, meaning those who attend are expected to help with either setup, cleanup or breakdown. Solar on UU Fellowship Roof

The Fellowship is participating in the largest grassroots renewable energy event in the nation. The Fellowship will be open on Oct 5th from 9am-11am for those interested in seeing how our solar works and learning about the benefits. The UU Fellowship of Winston-Salem was the very first church in Forsyth County to go solar. We will celebrate by participating in this national solar tour. Weeders/Workers Wanted – The Rain Garden Needs YOU!

The rain garden renovation is back on track as the temperatures cool. We need folx willing to weed, move rock, etc. from 4 to 7 or thereabouts. Snacks and beverages will be provided for communal sharing and post effort appreciation of a job well done! If you can assist, please sign up so we can get a head count.
