First Friday Potluck

January 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 6:00 pm on day First of the month, repeating until May 31, 2021

One event on January 15, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Great Food! (because you provide it).
Great Company! (because we will all be there).
Great social distancing! (because Zoom).

What is a ZoomLuck Potluck, you ask? Well, we will all have dinner in our own place, but with a Zoom connection to the group. However, rather than try to have 40 people sharing airtime, we will be randomly placed in small conversation groups of 4 – 8 people. After about 30 minutes the groups will be shuffled again, so we will all have a chance to visit with many people. Please register and the Zoom link will be emailed to you. https://uufws.org/virtual-firstfriday-potluck

Sunday Worship Service

January 17 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

“The Serenity Prayer, Part 2” - This Sunday, I will continue my sermon series on the Serenity Prayer. Last week I shared a story that illustrated the negative consequences of being unable to let go of events, conditions, or people over which we have no control. This week I will tell a story about someone who found the courage to let go of something that had deeply affected his life and find a way to focus on what he could change. The stories from last week and this week illustrate a daily human dilemma: what do we ‘let go of’ and what do we apply our time, energy, and attention to? If we can see our lives through the Serenity Prayer lens, it can make a significant difference in our lives. I look forward to exploring this issue further with you this summer. Speaker:  Rev. Ed Brock, Worship Leader:  Josh Loew

By enhancing our awareness of racial bias, we’re better able to address its presence in our lives, in our community, and in the world. This is a unique opportunity to partner with people of color associated with this Fellowship in this awareness journey. Please join us in these upcoming programs designed for our Fellowship in a safe and supportive environment.
