Adult Faith Formation
Religious learning, faith formation, and the development of spiritual practices is a lifelong process of developing and deepening one’s understanding of self and their relationship with the universe, god, or the spirit of love and mystery. We integrate faith into all aspects of life through a combination of learning, meditation or prayer, community life, and service to others. Faith Formation moves beyond traditional classroom instruction to encompass a holistic spiritual development that shapes one’s worldview and influences interactions with others as well as the wonders of interdependent web.
While traditional Religious Education focuses primarily on classroom instruction to teach core doctrines, Faith Formation is broader. Faith Formation encompasses all experiences that nurture faith (a system of religious belief), including religious instruction, liturgical experiences, pastoral care, and the overall connectivity of life within the community.
Some of us find our answers to life’s most fundamental questions early, and our life experiences solidify and reinforce those beliefs. Others of us take a more winding path, searching for, evaluating, discarding and re-imagining those answers more than once during our journey. Wherever you are on your path, we strive to offer a variety of opportunities for all ages to stretch and expand their knowledge while connecting their mind, body, and spirit.
