Forum: The Power and Potential of a 3rd Space

June 30 @ 9:00 am - 10:15 am

Event Series Event Series (See All)
forum discussion group

Rev. Kayla Parker will speak on The Power and Potential of a 3rd Space. Third Spaces are the places where people can be themselves that are not their home or work. How can this Fellowship become a 3rd space for all who long to find welcome, refuge and renewal within our doors? What comforts might some of us have to give up for this to happen? What space will we need to make for others? And how do we make space to be truly welcome and inclusive? Join us as we explore how to become the community we long to be for all.

We invite you to come and explore “The Forum,” an adult educational presentation and discussion group held both in person and online at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston-Salem each Sunday from 9:00 – 10:10 AM.

Topics include current events, books, travel, community action, careers, social issues and more. Each event usually begins with a presentation, followed by friendly and lively discussion.

Guests and visitors are welcome. Just show up ready to think, listen and participate as much or as little as you wish. Each week’s topic and presenter are generally announced 2-4 weeks in advance.

Gathering and informal conversation begins at 8:45am. The presentation/discussion begins at 9:00am.

To attend in person: 4055 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, in the Emerson Thoreau rooms. Enter the main doors, go left and continue down to the end of the hall.
