Marguerite’s Coffeehouse presents Award Winning Jazz Saxophonist Tyree Nesbitt and his Ensemble July 12 at 7pm
Tyree Nesbitt, a native of Summerville, South Carolina, is currently pursuing his Masters in Music Performance at Indiana University where he is studying with Dr. Otis Murphy. Tyree received his Bachelors in Music Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the arts under Dr. Robert Young.
During his time at UNCSA, Tyree has performed in competitions such as: NCMTNA’s (North Carolina’s Music Teacher Association) senior woodwind division (placing alternate in the State), NANM (national association of negro musicians, 3rd place at nationals), and has performed with ensembles such as the Winston-Salem Symphony and the Piedmont Wind Symphony.
Recently, Tyree has been a part of many new world premieres such as: Dragnet Girl, and LA Bayadère: re-imagined! As a composer, Tyree has received commissions from Dr. Robert Young and Lucas Ingle. He has also performed in masterclasses for Dr. Joseph Lulloff and Dr. Connie Frigo.

The show starts at 7pm and runs for about an hour at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston Salem, located on 4055 Robinhood Road, Winston Salem. Steve Lawing will be hosting.
