Today we celebrate shared ministry and the formal establishment of our covenantal relationship with our Minister, Rev. Kayla Parker.

As the UUA explains:

“The Installation isn’t something the congregation does for the minister; rather, it honors and celebrates the promises you are making to one another as you knit yourselves into shared ministry.”

Together, we acknowledge the circles of community contained within our Fellowship, and the beauty and growing pains of drawing our circles wider to embrace all who enter into our Community of Communities.

We will exchange physical gifts symbolic of our shared ministry and the gifts we each bring, including a functional art piece we’ll take several months to “make” together. All are welcome to bring a small (think 4×6) piece of fabric representing you that will be quilted into a collective piece for our Joys & Sorrows table.

We’ll also hear words of charge and blessing from area religious professionals, and a message from Rev. Tyler Coles of the Southern Regional UUA.

Children are welcome to be in the service or spend time in the nursery, and all are invited to a reception following the service.
